Looking for Mystical Love in Portland?

Sometimes you feel as if you're a rowboat adrift in the ocean.

Water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink! It seems that the whole world is full of love, but we're caught behind a glass pane, unable to get at it.

Oh, our poor hearts! The truth is that love is always available to us-- it's what fuels our lives, makes our work, our families, our relationships richer and more rewarding and more successful. But where is this love?

Don't be surprised: It's in your heart. And, it's found and nurtured through age-old mystical practices that connect you to the unending Source of Love: the Divine, the Beloved, Allah.

Our community here in Portland may be a spiritual home for you if you are looking for:

• The chance to really know God's love, and to swim in it, to walk with it, and live it.
• A dedicated, warm, generous band of travellers for your spiritual journey.
• A fulfilling daily practice of spiritual nourishment.
• A growing community who meet at least weekly to renew our connection to each other, and the Love.

We of the Portland Shadhiliyya Sufi Community, under the guidance and lineage of Sheikh Sidi al Jamal in Jerusalem, provide many opportunities for gathering together, growing spiritually, and just resting in companionship and friendship.

Newsletter: If you are at all interested, the first thing you'll want to do is join our newsletter. Published only twice a month, it keeps you up to date on our gatherings, our festivities, happenings in the community, so you always know where and when you can connect with fellow travellers in the love.

Dhikrs: These weekly gatherings, every Sunday beginning at 5pm, we come together to call the Name of the One in our hearts, and clean ourselves from the week of worldly things. Afterwards, we schmooze. Several times a month, it's a potluck. Find out more.

Free Teachings: Every Wednesday evening, from 6pm until 8pm our local Sufi teachers provide free teachings in an informal, no-question-too-odd, circle. Experiential, soothing, intimate, personal. Find out more.
